A 4,000 square foot "Brooklyn Gothic" condo featured in Cookie magazine is now for sale. The 3 bedroom, 3 bath home features 28 stained glass windows, 3 wood-burning fireplaces, and a private terrace. All quite rare in NYC. Of course, you will need to pluck some serious cash from your backyard money tree. This one is not cheap. See the listing here.

This is the home of Martha Stewart Living's creative director Erik Pike. Photos from a 2005 issue via Habitually Chic. Very calm, neutral and clean and I like the hidden television above the fireplace.
These babies sure don't come on the market often. The exterior elevation and pool of the Fawcett House was designed by an aging Frank Lloyd Wright in 1955 and completed in 1961, two years after his death. It's on the market for $2.7 million. Details: 5 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, 3,700 square feet on 80 acres in Los Banos, California. Love the huge, walk-in fireplace.
Thanks to Black*Eiffel, I was reminded of the gorgeous Domino pictorial of Billy and Katie Lee Joel's home a little while back. It was designed (inside) by celebrity interiors man Nate Berkus who did a nice job of mixing understated luxury with warm comfort.
If you're in the market for modern Australian real estate - here ya go! The 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom Brighton House, designed by architect Nic Bochsler, is up for grabs. From the realtor:
The house has made the most of this impressive, private allotment with views to the bay and city, and clever design to maximize light, and to take advantage of the north west orientation.
From the time you enter, the design of Bochsler is obvious, from the trade-mark use of voids and changing volumes to the expansive use of glass and water features. Every detail and aspect has been carefully designed to maximize the utility of the space and to capture the beauty of its design and surrounds. This home is as much a work of art as it is a modern functional family home.
The first thing I thought of when I saw this beautiful loft was...roller skates. I would love to roller skate through this humongous, wood-floored wonder. Then I began to question how any family could live this minimally. I mean - I call shenanigans on this one. They did not just move in. They have a toddler. How did they avoid the large plastic ride-in cars and yellow grocery cart? Everyone has those! Where are their things? Photos? High chairs? Billy Joel Songbooks at the piano? Scribble drawings and US Magazines? Still. Lovely loft. See more of it here.
I'm still pouting about Domino folding. Here are some great photos of Domino editor Deborah Needelman's NYC apartment. Very chic, of course.

Without a doubt, San Francisco has some gorgeous old homes. Two renovated properties are on the market now and very fun to take a peek at. And, if you have a spare $10 million plus, they can be yours!
This first mansion is in the heart of Pacific Heights - great neighborhood. It has 9 bedrooms, 7 fireplaces, and 10 bathrooms. Elevator, ballrooms, butler's kitchen...definitely from a by-gone era, but gorgeous to look at. Here are a few photos (listed for $14.9 million...gulp).
Yea, I don't speak Danish either. I'm more of an 8th grade level Spanish (with some pig Latin) girl myself. But the link has some pretty pictures!! This stylish Danish designer couple with impossibly cute children fixed up an old office apartment and the results are pretty amazing. Good luck with all that white.
Former model Angie Hill's funky modern renovation of the Hollywood Hills' (in)famous "Nightmare on Elm Street" home.
"It began as a nosy day out – a friend rang up Angie Hill and told her the house featured in A Nightmare on Elm Street was on the market, why didn't they go to view it? By the end of the afternoon, Angie had fallen in love with the property and was picturing herself, not the film's monster, Freddy Krueger, walking through the door."
